Apps can no longer hold an active socket connection open without a foreground notification the user can clearly see. That significantly cuts the battery drain often caused by poorly optimized apps.

The unified memory management system also uses an on-device machine learning model to predict which apps a user will open, pre-warming them without sudden spikes in CPU cycles.
